Confession time. When I was fifteen, I saw Flashdance. I believed it was not technically possible to be prettier than Jennifer Beals. I opened my mind to the career option of being a welder by day, dancer by night.
Readers, it was not to be. Getting a 'C' in first-year metal work and owning two pairs of leg-warmers wasn't qualification enough.

ReplyDeleteI love Flashdance. Do you realise that during her big audition dance scene a man acts as her body double to do that oh-so-cool head spin. Look closely it is a wig! Sad that I know this fact....

More that we have in common! I'm also a closet Flashdance fan. And I also owned several pairs of legwarmers. I took years of dance lessons to no avail, but I did perfect that "taking off the bra without removing the shirt" move. Those were the days...
